Rodeo Gallery

The Destin Fishing Rodeo exhibit focuses on telling the story of how the Rodeo got started and what it means to the Destin community today. The Rodeo is one of the longest running fishing tournaments in the US. Anglers travel from all over the world to compete in the Rodeo. The tournament is a multi-species, 31-day event held annually the month of October.

Diving in Destin

Our newest exhibit focuses on the history of Diving in Destin. The first divers moved to Destin in the 1950’s. Since then diving, snorkeling, and snuba have become popular pastimes in Destin, for not only tourist but locals as well.

Mike Long Memorial Fish Wall

The museum is home to over 100 fish mounts. Every fish in the museum was caught in Destin waters. Several of these mounts are displayed on our fish wall. The wall also displays the Destin peninsula and the depths of water surrounding it.The mural helps explain why Destin is the closest port in the panhandle to every depth of fishable water for all Gulf of Mexico species.
